Native FaunaIndonesian flora and fauna are comprised of immigrant species from Asia and Australia, and endemic species, exclusive to a specific island or locale. There is a great difference in species between the Eastern islands, including Sumbawa, and Western islands, such as Bali. The Eastern islands are home to more species of Australian origin, and have a greater proportion of endemic species. On and around the resort you'll find komodos, water buffalos, wild boar and Indian cows. Shy monkeys play in the jungles nearby. On local farms, livestock run free range and can be seen from the roads, adding to the area's rural appeal. |
